The African BIOinformatics NETwork (ABioNet) is a development closely associated with existing activities in bioinformatics in Africa, such as the African Society for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology the co-ordination and support of meetings and research from the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the World Health Organisation Tropical Disease Research programme. The network is in the process of development of a programme of training and research linking key sites of African Bioinformatics in South Africa (SANBI), Tunisia (IPT), Kenya (ICIPE and ILRI) and Mali (MRTC), to provide regional capacity development.

If you would like to be involved in the development, you are welcome to gain a user name and password by contacting Mario Jonas (mario_at_sanbi.ac.za), and contributing to this website.
